Recent indications are that people are moving to the Eastside, North and even East of the city to places like Lake Stevens, the Issaquah Highlands, and North Bend.  The ability to work from home, excellent schools, low crime rates, and the absence of inner-city issues are the leading reasons.

Not to be confused however with a “dying” city there are still plenty of newcomers to fill housing voids that fill quickly.

I sold this home in Woodinvile in the Fall of 2017, for a list price of $825,000 in five days. Today Redfin estimates its value at approximately $1,000,000, or about 20% in just at 3 years. The owner remodeled the master bath and it has a studio/art room that had heat but no plumbing and it’s on a cul-de-sac.

About a 45-minute drive from Seattle (yes, it’ll take you a bit longer in the rain or at peak traffic times) homes like these are gaining in appeal as decisions are made to work from home, and gain a little more peace and quiet in the process. Watch for my blog about the Lake Stevens home I sold that is similar to this one – sold for over asking in one day!
